DCM group is a 55 years old French private company.
The group comprises of four converting machine manufacturers : DCM USIMECA, ATN, HOLWEG and H.G. WEBER.
Totally, more than 300 people work to produce machines for packing converters worldwide.
The DCM group is active on three complementary machine market segments :
● Flexible packaging converting machines mainly for the food industry from DCM USIMECA.
● Paper and carton converting machines for liquid packages, cigarette packaging etc… from ATN
● Paper bag manufacturing lines from HOLWEG and H.G. WEBER.
BUSINESS CONCEPT
The mission of the DCM group is to provide packaging converters with efficient, and quality converting machines, which can be operated friendly anywhere in the world. Their price must be compatible with the investment capacity in this branch of activity.
As the packaging is a growing market, part of the mission is also to accompany and support new entrepreneurs with feasibility studies, advising and training.
STRATEGY TO DEVELOP CUSTOMER LOYALTY
The strength of the DCM Group is built upon the know how accumulated by the four companies that make up the Group : DCM USIMECA, HOLWEG, H.G. WEBER and ATN.
Any customer of one of the companies gets the benefit of the whole Group capacity in terms of design, manufacturing and service.
At all levels, from management to workers, the employees turnover is limited ensuring strong technical skills. But at the same time the growth allows new skills through young engineers introducing the latest techniques.
The aim of DCM Group is to develop and offer machines with standard and reliable components well adapted to the application.
Then it is easier to ensure the existing customers with an efficient service for many years.
THE GROWTH THROUGH BOTH ENDS
During the last fifteen years, the growth has been ensured through two traditional ways :
● Within DCM to follow the trends of the market, the developments on some of the machines have been increased.
That was the case for narrow web presses and laminators for which DCM is well known.
Another market segment, the shrinkable sleeve have been developed in a way that DCM is today in leading position in many countries.
● Externally, after the successful integration of HOLWEG in 1993, the company ATN joined the DCM group in the year 2000. USIMECA well known French manufacturer of high performance slitter rewinder join the Group in 2004 as well as the American paper bag machineries manufacturer H.G. WEBER in 2008 .
Thanks to the synergies between the companies production, the expertise has been considerably improved in each business area.
The four manufacturing plants owned by the Group have been extended and linked together.
